TAILS Foundation Inc is a 501c3 nonprofit organization founded in April 2016 in response to an increasing need for pet assistance services, especially among low-income and senior families often due to a temporary financial or medical situation. At TAILS, we want to help families care for their pets, keeping them healthy, happy and at home!
In May 2016, we opened TAILS Foundation Thrift Store and Community Center where we were able to roll out several programs such as Food4TAILS pet food bank, RainbowTAILS end-of-life services and TAILSRewards community discount card program. We were also able to hold pet fairs and fundraisers and educate guests with resident ambassador animals such as Buzzy the cockatiel, Lucy the corn snake and Piggers the Guinea pig! |
In June 2017, we moved to a new, bigger location where we had continued success with fundraising and were able to do more community outreach as we continued to build and support our programs and services. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we were forced to close our doors in May 2018.
And then there was COVID! In spite of the challenges we've faced, TAILS Foundation Inc has survived and continues to dream big and we want to thank those of you who have continued to support us through it all. THANK YOU! If you would like more information about TAILS Foundation Inc or if you need assistance, please feel free to reach out through our Contact Us page. |

Lara Heape - Treasurer
Hi, my name is Laura Heape and I live and work in Post Falls, Idaho. My husband and I have eight children (only four still at home), a dog named Chico, and two cats named Frankie and Peep. I’ve worked as a bookkeeper for over fifteen years and am now volunteering to help with the books for TAILS Foundation Inc. and its affiliates. I first met LaRain while attending the River City Leadership Academy (2022-2023) and was so impressed with her dedication to helping pets and pet owners in our community by providing food, low-cost veterinary services, education, and other services that help them to stay together and thrive. My dog Chico was a rescue dog and my (daughter’s) cat Peep was an abandoned stray, so I know and appreciate those who make the effort to help animals avoid those situations and instead have security and a happy life while staying with an owner who cares for them. I hope I can be of help to make TAILS Foundation Inc. grow and be very successful. |
